2021 is finally here, and Nike has kick-started the new year by dropping the highly anticipated Jordan 1 "Volt Gold," which has hit the retail stores and the Nike official website on 9th January for adults and kids.
The model is a part of the Jordan Brand Spring 2021 Retro Footwear collection. Volt Gold has a vivid twist in contrast to the Air Jordan 1 series' typical ones. The design gives flashbacks of the Jordan 1 mid release in 2020, but the colors and accents deviate. The shoe's black outsole is nothing different from the regular Air Jordan, with an off-white/sail midsole to create a timeless combo. The unique exposed foam tongue is sail colored with a funky volt stitching. Nike has done something unprecedented with the tongue tag this time around. The tongue tag is flipped and transparent, which is something unique, and offers a different vibe from the usual.

The shoe features a matte black toe box with gold heels and a white side panel, which work well together. Foldable eyelet flaps, volt ankles, premium black leather swooshes on both sides, and wing logo printed on lateral volt collar flaps are other iconic Nike shoe traits. This AJ1 comes with solid sail laces with the shoe and an additional set of nicely rolled up all black lace without any red line at the top that you usually see on the Jordan 1 extra laces. The extra bottom lace holes will remind you of the off-white Jordan 1, which you can also double lace if desired.
Another notable change is the exposed foam type of material on the top of the upper ankle. The AJ1 Volt Gold is the first release of the Jordan series this year, which we can definitely live with and is expected to create a buzz throughout the year.
You can grab the Nike Jordan 1 Volt Gold at a retail price of $170 on the Nike SNKRS app or Nike retail location.
