American graffiti artist Brian Donnelly aka KAWS has partnered with Augmented Reality (AR) art production company Acute Art to bring his signature sculpture design 'Companion' to the AR world through a project called "Expanded Holiday."
The "Expanded Holiday" AR project will display a series of AR drawings and sculptures that can be photographed, shared, and viewed by downloading the Acute Art app. Through this project, KAWS and Acute Art take art from the white walls and canvas of galleries and place it into the creative imagination of the user, allowing them to create their vision of KAWS art wherever they'd like.
The Acute Art app provides three AR drawings and two AR sculptures for free use. Alongside the free use works, you can directly share your photos and video created in the app on social media or with family and friends straight from the platform.
In addition to the "Expanded Holiday," KAWS expands this project with the "Companion Expanded" and ''Companion (Expanded)" global exhibitions. The KAWS "Companion Expanded" project staged twelve AR sculptures in significant locations across the world that include Africa, Australia, Europe, North and South America, and the Middle East set to launch March 12th through March 26th. Companion (Expanded) is a series of 25 locations pre-located by KAWS that are available on the Acute Art website.
Download the Acute Art app and bring your creativity with KAWS to life.
