EA Fuses EA Access and Origin to Create EA Play

Tis' the season for rebranding as several companies look to rebrand themselves to fit the mold for streaming services. EA is no different in the rebranding of EA Access and Origin Access to EA Play starting today, August 18th.

Electronic Arts took to a blog post on their official website to announce the restructuring of EA Access and Original Access becoming EA Play and Origin Access Premier rebranded as EA Play Pro. Users of the platform will not be hit with any additional charges in the rebranding. EA will keep the now dubbed EA Play formerly EA Access set at $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, and the previously named Origin Access Premier now EA Play Pro priced at $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year.

"EA Play puts you at the center of the experience. Moving all the benefits to a single brand is an important step in streamlining our services to ensure that being an EA Play member is the best way to play."

Within the new changes, the Electronic Arts team is "adding even more in the coming months, starting with exclusive in-game challenges and monthly reward drops for members on select titles," according to the blog post." The company urges members to make sure their EA email notifications are on to learn what exclusives come with upcoming titles such as Madden NFL 21, FIFA 21, and Star Wars: Squadrons.

EA didn't stop there with the changes, EA's annual live event will now be called, EA Play Live. The annual live event showcases a multitude of experiences ranging from game updates and world premiers.
