An Inside Look at Jared Leto's Joker Role in Zack Snyder's Justice League

DC fans are freaking with anxiety as it gets closer and closer to Zack Snyder's Justice League's premiere on HBO MAX. Especially after hearing the news that Jared Leto's iteration of Joker will appear in the Snyder cut, fans were eager to learn more.

After months of anticipation, the first look for the iconic villain was finally released, but the photo shared was a bit obscure, to say the least, showing the Clown Prince of Crime holding a Joker playing card.

Now the director has shared new photos of Jared Leto as the Joker to Vanity fair. The images are much darker than how the character was shown in Suicide Squad. You can see the menacing stare he gives with unpredictably unhinged intentions. It seems that Snyder has ditched the character's flashy wardrobe for a gloomier look. He wears a surgical mask (very in touch with the times), a hospital gown, and gloves with no sight of his bizarre "Damaged" tattoo and has also adopted longer hair. Snyder has confirmed that he will put the iconic villain to great use in his cut, telling Vanity fair that:

"The Joker is really the only thing that I thought of in retrospect. But I will say that it was always my intention to bring Joker into that world."

In the interview, Snyder told the outlet,

"The cool thing about the scene is that it's Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman; it's Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That's the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together."

Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere on HBO MAX on March 18.
