Adidas seems to be looking forward to the release of its next collaboration project with Muppet franchise founder Stan Smith. The Stan Smith partnership was revealed shortly after Adidas launched the "Stan Smith, Forever" initiative.
The brand began the project to use recycled materials on their latest upcoming launches to benefit the environment by reducing plastic waste. The first batch of these sustainable tennis shoes is now available as part of a partnership project with Stan Smith. The famous Muppets character Kermit the Frog will first be featured on the excellent recyclable low-top sneaker in this project.
The lovable Muppet character who stays relaxed and sips tea all by himself will be prominently featured on the retro tennis sneaker. This isn't the first time Kermit the Frog has appeared on a pair of shoes. He's been featured on two other sneakers so far, but the forthcoming colorway blows all of them out.
The sneaker features a classic white upper with the famous frog's identifiable color tone of Lime Green on the heel caps. The homage to the famous Muppets character is then applied to the collar, which has a fluffy fabric lining that matches the sound of the titular character. We also see Kermit's face image appear right above the adidas branding. The sneaker also has a "Kermit" engraving on the lateral side, and the trademark frog's saying "It's not easy being green" sewed on the heel tabs.
The Kermit the Frog x Adidas Stan Smith sneaker is set to release on March 29th, with a wider release on April 1st. Each pair will be priced at $90 USD.
