Louis Vuitton Men's Takes Temporary Residence on Rodeo Drive

Globally known French luxury brand Louis Vuitton has now arrived in Beverly Hills. After short stops in places such as Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, and Miami, the temporary event has shifted to the West Coast. The building at 468 North Rodeo Drive has been completely remodeled into an immersive pop-up event at the north end of Rodeo Drive.

The structure features several giant red containers that have been set up with the traditional Louis Vuitton logo depicted on them. The temporary event also features a cast of colorful miscellaneous cartoon characters atop the building and containers.

These characters are from the lively universe of The Adventures of Zoooom with FriendsThe characters first appeared in a short three-minute video that merged live-action with the animation style that debuted in June 2020.

These whimsical theatrics are all part of the Spring-Summer 2021 Men's collection spearheaded by the genius Virgil Abloh, the artistic director behind Louis Vuitton's men's fashionwear. The brief roadshow is presented creatively to showcase the men's collection "Message in a Bottle." The inspiration for the men's collection came from the mastermind Abloh's Ghanian Heritage and new upcycled looks acquired from recycled material. This particular collection that can be seen inside the crimson red shipping containers is part of four different upcycling methods.

"We as humans want new things, we always want to go forward; the newest, fastest, shiniest things. [But] if my collection I debuted in January I believed in, by the time it gets to July, I still believe in it. It's not that it's so old that it can't be seen ever again. I'm questioning that system by proposing that my collections are all as one." Virgil Abloh told in an interview with Women's Wear Daily.

The massive 1,600-square-foot building that houses all of Abloh's creations is open now from February 6th till the end of the month, although only at a 25 percent capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions.
