Virgil Abloh continues to innovate Louis Vuitton's history.
Virgil Abloh and the French fashion house have announced they have signed the first skate shoe deal in the companies long 166-year history. Abloh notes, the collaboration is "the first skater deal of this type."
The two creatives have spent significant time with one another recently, creating video components for an ad to drop later this year with the first official ad of a Louis Vuitton x Lucien Clarke mashup appearing in a new edition of Thrasher. The world caught wind of the potential Clarke x Abloh partnership when Clarke graced the LV runway in 2019.
Clarke post to Instagram to tell the world about this one of a kind deal:
"WHERE DO I START? I DESIGNED MY PRO SHOE FOR LOUIS VUITTON," Clarke shared, "AND SHOT A SKATE ADVERT FOR THRASHER 🤯NBD… THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING," he went on to add. "MAJOR SHOUT OUT TO VIRGIL FOR FLIPPING THE MF SWITCH!"
Abloh's also dropped teaser posts to his Instagram, highlighting this epic collab.
There is no official word on when we will be able to get our hands on the first Louis skate shoe but stay tuned for details.
