Machine Gun Kelly maintains his momentum following the release of his recent No. 1 Billboard charting album "Tickets To My Downfall" with the release of a new track titled "love race." The track features MGK's regular collaborator, the legendary Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, as well as Kelin Quinn, the lead singer of Sleeping with Sirens. The heavy-punk rock love song includes guitars, which seem to be a running trend for the new style that the former rapper has now embraced and appears to be pushing more for his pop and punk rock songs.
Barker recorded and co-wrote the song with Audio Chateau's Jared Gutstadt and Jeff Peters. Matthew Thiessen, the lead singer of Relient K, is also credited as a co-writer on the track. The moody love song starts with a light tone playing reverbed heavy guitar strums before eventually escalating to the 31-year-old artist's trademark pop vocals and gritty punk guitar tunes that serve as the underlying crescendo of the chorus. MGK's rich deep crooning blends seamlessly with Quinn's melodic high notes as they both join together at the song's climax to sing "I'm on the run/To get back to you."
Machine Gun Kelly's latest single arrives only a few days after he revealed his official Tickets To My Downfall Tour. The tour is set to begin on September 9 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and conclude on December 18 in the rocker's hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The tour's special guests have been revealed as carolsdaughter, jxdn, and KennyHoopla.
