Naomi Campbell is the Face of Hood by Air Latest Ad Campaign

Hood By Air is officially back in the ready-to-wear fashion space yet again after a long break by the brand.

Last year the avant-garde streetwear brand announced that it would be resuming its work in the fashion industry after taking a hiatus to reevaluate back in 2017. Ever since the brand's debut in 2006, the streetwear brand caught everyone's eyes for its rebellious, gender-bending style that broke into the mainstream to become one of the hottest labels to look out for in the New York Fashion Week.

The brand-new collection from Hood by Air which is lined up to release is named "The Prologue." The collection's campaign stars famous supermodel Naomi Campbell that shines in the black and white images captured by Luis Alberto Rodriguez. The pictures reveal Naomi Campbell in a pixie cut, dressed in leather outerwear while delivering a savage gaze into the camera, showcasing the collection pieces in style.

The Prologue collection comes from Hood By Air's genius fashion designer Shayne Oliver. This marks Oliver's first RTW collection since its hiatus in 2017. Oliver created three coherently linked narratives to The Prologue that are Mother, Veteran, and Merch. The Mother collection's pieces that Campbell sports in the campaign are all an honorary homage to maternal figures throughout Oliver's lifetime.

"It's kind of based on my grandmother and what she brought to the table, which was always the beauty, but then also, she is how I learned how to physically sew and make clothes."

Oliver even spoke about the brand's choice to bring in Naomi Campbell to star in the campaign saying to Vogue that:

"She is such a mother figure to [so many people in fashion] and has always been so outspoken about Black people in fashion, Black identity, and Black creativity."

Hood By Air's team even took to Instagram to tease more about other collections somewhere down the line for their fans.
