The NBA 2K brand released the final cover art for the upcoming NBA 2K21 featuring the late Kobe Bryant. The basketball legends images will grace the Mamba Forever Edition available on both current consoles PS4 and Xbox One, and next-gen releases PS5 and Xbox Series X due out this Fall.
Take-Two Interactive reveals NBA 2K21 is now available for preorders on current-gen consoles Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, Xbox One, scheduled for September 4th, 2020 release.
In addition to this, Take-Two announces that NBA 2K21 will have a slight price increase for the release of highly anticipated next-gen consoles, the Sony Playstation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X with the suggested retail price of $69.99 going forward. The increase comes as a $10 jump from the $59.99 price point of $59.99 for most AAA games after 15 years of maintaining the affordable price point.
According to reports, the jump in prices stems from new-gen technology pushing gaming enhancements such as 8K graphics, and 3D audio to the limits driving hardware and software costs up.
In a statement to Forbes Visual Concepts president, Greg Thomas says,
"We're combining all of our experience and development expertise to craft the best game possible and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, we are building the game from the ground up to take full advantage of next-gen power and technology.
