Nike Pays Tribute to Kobe Bryant in New Commercial

Nike pays tribute to fallen star Kobe Bryant in a respectful two-minute commercial celebrating the superstar.

The commercial did not include any images or video but played various audio clips playing in the background surrounding Bryant's achievements.  The audio clips were a highlight of his life spanning back to playing for his team at Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania, 81-point career high scoring, and his five NBA championships with the LA Lakers. During the audio clip, the black screen featured a series of taglines before ending the clip with the word, "Forever," and closing with "Mamba Forever."

Check out this statement from Nike:

"In Memory: Kobe Bryant."
"Kobe was one of the greatest athletes of his generation and has had an immeasurable impact on the world of sport and the community of basketball," the statement read. "He was a beloved member of the Nike family. We will miss him greatly. Mamba forever."

Bryant joined the Nike family in 2003 with fellow NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James that year. After Jordan's 2003 retirement, Bryant helped the sneaker giant become a staple in the basketball world with the 2005 debut of his first sneaker, the Zoom Kobe 1.
