Nipsey Hussle lived by his own motto in life, "The Marathon Continues," and never failed to come up short in his search for the top. The late rapper was known for taking his culture to the next level of living in the marathon of life. So, to commemorate his recorded life, the rapper's apparel line is unveiling a new partnership with Puma that will honor the man's long-lasting legacy.
Since the artist's death, Nipsey's Marathon apparel brand and the sneaker juggernaut PUMA have collaborated. The majority of these collaborations have been in memory of the recording artist, with the cultural leader formally becoming the sneaker brand's ambassador in January 2018.
Ian Forde, the merchandising manager of the German sportswear brand, talked about the Los Angeles rapper's relationship with himself and how they had been preparing a joint capsule line with TMC for months. Forde described in an interview with the undefeated how their conversations used to go and how Nipsey, real name Ermias Asghedom, would always call him when he was inspired. The rapper's inspiration was humble and compassionate, and he always gave back to his community by taking others forward.
The relationship is still going strong two years after Nipsey Hussle's death, with the brands launching a co-branded capsule. Marathon Clothing, the rapper's clothing company, has posted a few photos of their forthcoming capsule collaboration with the German sneaker imprint. The pictures showed a brown Puma Suede sneaker and a limited-edition co-branded T-shirt. The smooth suede sneaker has a brown top with gold accents in the sneaker. The kicks also have a TMC emblem stamped on the heel, the text "TMC" engraved in gold text, and the Puma logo.
This most recent capsule partnership will be available starting on Friday, May 7th.
