Playstation's newest console dubbed the PS5 will become available in late 2020. Mark Verny stated in early 2019 that he and his team were working on the console to succeed the PlayStation Slim and Playstation Pro.
Over recent months the Sony team has been keeping gamers invested by giving small details about the new features, name, and now the official PS5 release window. In conjunction with the hand-feed bites of information from Sony, Sony registered a patient that shows the console new shape and added structural features.


Sony PS5 Release Date
Playstation 5, aka PS5, set to land in stores everywhere in late 2020. This holiday drop will happen at the same time Microsoft has planned to release its Xbox Series X console.
Sony PS5 Price
A price confirmation has not been given by Sony quite yet, but several leaks suggest that the new console will range $499 or more. Currently, the price of the Playstation Slim is $299 and the Playstation Pro at $399. So the guess seems to be spot on!

Does the Sony PS5 Have Backwards Capabilities?
The PS5 will have backward capabilities with all PS4 games based on the PS5 built on 'PS4's architecture." This capability will include physical discs, not just the digital form. It is unlikely that the PS5 will have backward capabilities to the PS1, PS2, or PS3.

Sony has not officially named the new controller, so, for the time being, we will refer to it as the "Dual Shock 5" to stay in line with prior controller names. The new controller will feature improved haptic feedback, resistance adaptive triggers, and will now support a USB Type- C plug.

Sony PS5 games
While there is no official word of games confirmed to be released just yet, that we will see our usual franchises to release new games. The list includes Cyerpunk 2077, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Gran Turismo 7, Grand Theft Auto 6, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, to name a few.
