Tesla 'Model 2' Released Date Expected in Late 2021 with Pricing Starting at $25,000

Rumors have been circulating that Tesla will most likely unveil a smaller version of the Model 3 dubbed the "Tesla Model 2". The model has reportedly been rendered by Brazilian artist Kleber Silva and will be developed by Elon Musk and his team and is one of several exciting new revelations from the company announced during Battery Day in 2020.

The Tesla Model 2 render will mix some elements of the Model 3 sedan and the Model Y going by the recent vehicle releases and models out right now.

We can expect the vehicle to offer some redesigns on the classic hatchback style that should make it a perfectly compact choice for in-city. The restructure will also be adding new functionality and more conveniently reliable factors from the electric vehicle conglomerate in Model 2.

Tesla Model 2 Mock-up

The most fascinating and surprising thing about the vehicle will be that it is not costly at all. The car is expected to come in starting at $25,000, which makes this model considerably more cost-effective of many based on the price tags of Tesla's other marquee models. When CEO Elon Musk announced, his company would be making the $25,000 model, he attributed the low price point to Tesla's new battery cell and battery manufacturing efforts.

Another cool and amusing factoid to take note of is that this will serve as the first model that will be designed outside of the US. Reports have told that the vehicle's assembly will take place in China at the Tesla Giga Shanghai complex.

While there has been no official release date for the Tesla "Model 2," it is expected to be unveiled sometime late in 2021.
