So, It's no secret that we love our videogames here at NT. If you are a fan of playing console you’ll find these insights to be very interesting for the future of console gaming. If you are part of the PC master race, I’d like to apologize in advance for the sacrilege that you are about to read. The next gen consoles are looking scary good. So good that they could be on the same playing field as PC. Hold on before you freak out, let us explain ourselves. The new consoles coming out have some crazy specs. In the PS5 you’ll find a new SSD that will give players insane loading times with 8k supported gaming. The processing power isn’t something to shrug off either, an 8 core AMD CPU based on AMD’s Ryzen 3rd generation processor. Microsoft announced their next console as Project Scarlett. The Project Scarlett seems pretty similar but also has an insane SSD that allows the unused memory to be used as VRAM essentially turbocharging the GPU to render some beautiful graphics if you have the screen to allow them. We know that these little bits of evidence don’t really convince you of the idea we presented above but hold on there is one last bit of information that might convince you otherwise. Ray Tracing, these consoles will be able to reliably provide this for the players. If you are unaware of how difficult it is to achieve Ray Tracing, understand that many PC builds out their struggle to reliably maintain Ray Tracing in games today. The platform that is supposed to be the most powerful thing out there has trouble “keeping it up” (Pun totally intended) and the new consoles claim to be able to provide this little piece of graphical excellence to its consumers, easily. If consoles can do something PCs have trouble doing, then there is going to be some changes being made to how we game. Maybe the master race won’t be just limited to PC. Maybe one day our brothers and sisters can display the banner of master race not just because they play PC or Console but because they are gamers. Maybe the true master race is the collective population that plays videogames.
